Marbat
The city of Marbat, formally the capital of Dhofar, is 68 km east of Salalah. The name comes from Al Khail Marbat which translated literally means the place where horses are tied. The place was famous for the breeding and export of horses as the incense. Now it is famous for the export of dried fish. With picturesque bays and inlets, Marbat has both an old and a new port. Taqah
32 km of Salalah on the coast, is the third largest city of Dhofar, Salalah and after Thumrayt.
